Introduce energy-saving measures for your small business

Energy Efficiency Grant

Businesses are encouraged to invest in sustainable products and services to reduce their carbon footprint and play their part in a greener future. With this support, you can introduce new measures to become a more energy-efficient business.

Businesses that want to invest in new energy-efficient technology to reduce environmental impact. 

You might be eligible if: 

  • You are a small to medium business
  • You employ up to 50 people 
  • You have been operating for at least 6 months
  • You have generated revenues of at least €30k
  • You have undertaken the Green for Business programme
  • You have had a recent energy audit by a SEAI auditor

Help your early-stage business to grow

Business Expansion Grant

Your business may no longer be a start-up, but you still need some support. This grant can help with a broad range of expenses, training and salary costs.

Businesses that need assistance in the growth phase, after the initial 18-month start-up period. 

You might be eligible if: 

  • You are a small to medium business
  • You have been operating for at least 18 months
  • The business is in the manufacturing or internationally traded services sectors

Business Advice Clinics

A confidential meeting with a Business Advisor is available to those with a business venture. This meeting will provide general advice and details on the various supports available, as well as signposting to other Government supports and possibilities to be involved in the LEO network's flagship events such as the Enterprise Village at the Ploughing Championships or our Enterprise Zone at Showcase.

  • Your existing business is operating in Ireland

Lean for Business

With this support, find out how Lean principles can transform your business by helping your staff find new ways of working and identifying inefficient practices to increase productivity.

Food Academy

This programme provides you with essential knowledge about starting a food business in Ireland and a unique opportunity to sell your product through one of Ireland’s leading retailers.

You might be eligible if: 

  • You are a food and beverage business that already has a product, tested it in the market, and is now looking to scale up
  • Your business is beyond the initial start-up period of 18 months

Support for first time and small-scale exporters

Market Explorer Grant

The Market Explorer Grant aims to support eligible companies seeking to explore either a new geographic market for an existing product/service, or an existing geographic market for a new product/service.

You might be eligible if:

  • You are a small enterprise (with between 1 and 50 full time employees)
  • Operate as Manufacturing or eligible internationally traded services businesses and are solvent as demonstrated in the financial statements supplied and have current tax clearance from Revenue.
  • Are not currently clients of Enterprise Ireland or IDA.
  • Operate commercially and are established and trading for at least 12 months, registered, and carrying on activity within the area of the Local Enterprise Office.

Have demonstrated intention to internationalise i.e:

  • have completed Export Accelerator or
  • similar LEO Exporter Programme or
  • have developed an internationalisation plan or
  • have initial small-scale exports that can be increased (suggestion is <10K).

GradStart provides financial support for businesses to compete for and hire graduate talent. The support covers the cost of taking in graduate talent on a two-year placement basis, to improve the skills base within your business.

  • You are an Enterprise Ireland, Local Enterprise Office or Údarás na Gaeltachta client

Digital & AI

Hands-on programme to develop exporting skills

Get Exporting

Get Exporting is designed to support businesses at every stage of their journey toward achieving initial export sales. Through our export development programme, we aim to simplify the export journey and help you build the knowledge, confidence, and strategies needed to succeed in international markets.

  • Get Exporting is for Irish manufacturing and internationally traded services companies looking to succeed in international markets. Companies must have less than €10,000 in export sales per annum in Northern Ireland or any other international market to apply.
  • A commitment is required from the CEO and/or a member of the senior leadership team.
  • Eligible businesses registered and based in Northern Ireland, who are interested in applying to the Get Exporting programme should apply directly to InterTradeIreland
  • The Get Exporting programme does not currently extend to food and drink businesses. Irish food and drinks businesses seeking support to enter the Northern Ireland market should contact InterTradeIreland (a minimum turnover threshold of €116,000 applies, or Bord Bia for all other regions (a minimum turnover threshold of €750,000 applies).

Innovate through collaborative research and development partnerships

Innovation Partnership Programme

The Innovation Partnership Programme aims to foster collaboration between companies and Irish research institutes to generate tangible competitive advantages for companies. It seeks to enhance technological advancement, people development, and knowledge exchange.

  • Manufacturing or internationally traded services company with an operating base in the Republic of Ireland that wishes to collaborate with one or more research institutes, also based in the Republic of Ireland, are eligible to participate.  
  • Companies must be registered clients of one of the state development agencies (Enterprise Ireland, IDA Ireland, Údarás Na Gaeltachta and Local Enterprise Office) and seeking to access the latest skills and expertise from research institutes throughout Ireland.
