BI:TES - Concept Testing

Ensure your food or drink products appeal to customers and sell them more effectively

This tool tests and validates your food or drink ideas, provided in partnership with Bord Bia and an independent research agency, both in Ireland and internationally.

Who is it for?

Food or drink businesses that want to improve their packaging and concept design.

You might be eligible if: 

  • You are a Bord Bia client
  • You are a potential Bord Bia client in the food or drinks sector

Eligibility is subject to terms and conditions.


What do you get?

  • 50% co-investment
  • Product and packaging feedback from target consumers 
  • A report that predicts how likely customers are to buy a product based on its description and key selling points

What can it be used for?

  • To show how well a concept works with the target audience and identify the key messages that appeal to consumers  
  • For conversations with retailers when looking for listings 
  • To filter down potential new product development ideas

To become a Bord Bia client, companies must have a turnover over €100k and manufacture in Ireland. Access to specific supports and services can be limited depending on interest and availability. Some of the supports require a 50% contribution
