SEAI is Ireland’s national energy authority. We are at the heart of driving Ireland’s clean energy transition.

SEAI is the expert authority on decarbonising Ireland’s energy system, using robust, objective data and an evidence-based approach to help inform policy development and energy user behaviours. SEAI empowers businesses, households, motorists and the public sector to move away from fossil fuels with practical advice and financial supports. We encourage positive changes in how Ireland uses energy to deliver a more prosperous, energy efficient and cleaner environment.

SEAI is Ireland’s national sustainable energy authority. SEAI is funded by the Government of Ireland through the Department of Climate, Energy and the Environment.

EV Fleet Assessment

Switch to electric vehicles and reduce your carbon footprint

This fleet assessment will help a business to plan and start their electrifciation journey. SEAI will appoint and pay for an assessor to carry out the review

  • Any business, (SME / Large) who have 5 or more vehicles in their fleet.

EXEED Grant Scheme

Financial and technical support to become energy-efficient

With this grant, businesses can introduce energy-efficient technology, design, or processes into their buildings and facilities to be more sustainable and competitive

Businesses that want to design and build energy efficient assets. 

You might be eligible if: 

  • Your project is committed to achieving EXEED certification 
  • Your project represents good value for money for the taxpayer 
  • Your project contributes to Ireland’s national climate policy goals 
  • You comply with the specific requirements and regulations outlined by the SEAI

Learn how to save energy, reduce costs, and lower your carbon footprint

The SEAI Energy Academy is an online learning platform established by the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI). It offers courses and resources to teach businesses about energy efficiency, renewable energy, and sustainable energy practices.

Businesses and their staff members seeking to:

  • Upskill and learn more about sustainable energy
  • Enhance their reputation and brand image
  • Deliver emissions and cost improvements

Energy Contracting Support Scheme

Fund energy-saving, decarbonisation projects

This scheme encourages businesses to invest in energy efficiency projects through Energy Performance Contracts (EPCs) for guaranteed results at a lower cost. 

 

An Energy Performance Contract (EPC) means a contractor upgrades your place of business to save energy and promises you savings. You pay them back with the savings over time. If you save less than promised, the contractor pays the difference, ensuring you benefit.

Businesses that want to invest in energy-saving projects with low financial risk.

You might be eligible if: 

  • You are a private or public sector business of any size
  • Your business is based in the Republic of Ireland
  • You comply with the specific requirements and regulations outlined by the SEAI
