Irish Business Design Challenge 2025

The Irish Business Design Challenge (IBDC) is a national competition run by Design & Crafts Council Ireland (DCCI)

The IBDC celebrates the transformative power of design in Irish micro and small businesses. It recognises businesses that use design to improve processes, enhance sustainability, and create meaningful impact.

Who is it for?

  • Micro and small businesses based in Ireland
  • Businesses from any sector — including craft, manufacturing, services, tech, and more
  • Must demonstrate how design is central to solving problems, improving customer experience, or driving innovation

Successful applicants will clearly show how design is used to:

  • Solve business challenges
  • Improve customer experience or product/service quality
  • Enhance sustainability or social impact
  • Drive innovation and growth

What do you get?

Share in a €50,000 prize fund:

  • Winners receive €20,000 plus promotional support via DCCI channels and media opportunities
  • Runners-up receive €5,000 and additional visibility through DCCI platforms

What can it be used for?

  • National recognition for your business and design-led approach
  • Opportunities to participate in media interviews, event photocalls, and social media campaigns
