Your ideas, inventions and innovations are valuable assets for your business. IP Start helps businesses get expert support with intellectual property (IP) matters so they can protect and make the most of their ideas. 

The support provides funding towards external IP advice, helping you understand your options and address specific IP challenges.

Who is it for?

Businesses actively involved in research and development that need immediate help with intellectual property matters.

You may be eligible if: 

  • You are an existing Enterprise Ireland, a Local Enterprise Office or Údarás na Gaeltachta client
  • You are an Irish owned businesses operating in the manufacturing/internationally traded services sectors employing 10 or more.

Eligibility is subject to terms and conditions.

What do you get?

  • Maximum grant: €5,000

What can it be used for?

  • The cost of external IP advisory and support services, including costs for obtaining, validating and defending IP, if applicable.
