When Noreen Hackett launched Advanced Cosmetics, she brought something entirely new to county Mayo: a full-service cosmetics manufacturing facility offering everything from formula development and filling, to packaging and pack-out.
Today, her Ballina-based business manufactures high-end skincare, tanning, body care, and fragrance products for leading Irish beauty brands from its state-of-the-art lab and production plant.
Noreen’s journey began in 2018 with a Local Enterprise Office Start Your Own Business programme. That course, she says, gave her the confidence and know-how to bring her vision to life.
With supports like a Priming Grant for equipment, help developing a strong business plan, and an employment grant for her first hire, Advanced Cosmetics was able to grow quickly and went on to win the National Enterprise Award in 2023.
