Business Investment Fund

Secure investment to reach your business potential

Through the Business Investment Fund, the Western Development Commission will either invest in or provide funding for businesses located in or moving to the west of Ireland. It applies to a range of sectors including technology, creative industries, and clean energy.

Who is it for?

You might be eligible if: 

  • You are a small to medium business
  • You are located in or relocating to the west of Ireland
  • You have a plan that shows how the investment will help you expand or improve
  • You have a proven track record of success
  • You have a product or service with its own intellectual property

Eligibility is subject to terms and conditions.

What do you get?

  • Equity investment between €250,000 and €1m
  • A loan ranging from €50,000 to €300,000 (depending on your business's ability to repay the loan)  

What can it be used for?

Activities that help grow your business such as: 

  • Developing new products
  • Improving current services 
  • Expanding into new markets
