Origin Green Sustainability Programme Membership

Origin Green is Ireland's food and drink sustainability programme

Run by Bord Bia, it provides Irish food and drink companies with a sustainability framework and mentorship and guidance to develop a multi-annual sustainability plan and attain third party verification of the initial plan and progress against actions on an annual basis

Who is it for?

Requirements:

  • Applicants must produce or handle food for human consumption.
  • Companies must have a minimum turnover of >€100,000 per annum to participate in the Origin Green Charter.
  • Applicants must have a ROI based production facility(ies) to be eligible to participate in the Origin Green Charter.
  • All manufacturing as it relates to inclusion in the Origin Green plan must be ROI based.

What do you get?

  • An individual mentor is assigned to work with each company to help them develop their bespoke company sustainability plan.
  • Membership is awarded to companies who have their plans verified by a third party and continue to make progress against their sustainability targets each year.
  •  Membership benefits include access to bespoke, low cost, sustainability guidance and upskilling through the Origin Green academy along with the use of the Origin Green logo and assets in order to identify as an Origin Green member.

Note: Origin Green is a business to business initiative and is not a consumer facing logo/campaign.

What can it be used for?

  • Membership of Origin Green provides Irish food and drinks companies with third party proof of their sustainability commitments to share with their customers and other key stakeholders such as employees, investors and the general public.
  • It also provides companies with a low cost way of staying on top of sustainability market place requirements, regulation and policy.
