Wage Subsidy Scheme

Financial support for businesses that employ people with a disability

This scheme provides financial support to businesses that hire people with disabilities for 21 to 39 hours per week. The employer receives a subsidy per hour worked based on the employee's productivity level compared to other employees.

Who is it for?

You might be eligible if:

  • You are registered as a business with the Revenue Commissioners and are tax compliant 
  • You can offer a minimum 6-month contract to the employee.

Eligibility is subject to terms and conditions.

What do you get?

The base wage subsidy paid to businesses that employ people with a disability is €6.30 per hour. 

What can it be used for?

  • To ensure employees with disabilities receive the standard wage for their position, which is the statutory minimum wage.
  • To provide employees participating in this scheme the same employment conditions as all other employees.
